The word 'hay' is used to say "there is" or "there are" in Spanish.

To make a noun plural in Spanish, you add the letter 's' to the end of a noun that ends in a vowel.
Por ejemplo: Hay dos mesas (tables) en la sala de clase. Hay un reloj y tres puertas en la sala de clase.
If the noun ends in a consonant, such as, 'l, r, d, n', add 'es' to the noun.
Por ejemplo: Hay cinco carteles (posters) en la sala de clase de español.
If a noun ends in the letter 'z', change the 'z' to 'c' and add 'es.'
